so sad to see the most epic of artists “break on through to the other side.” he was a massive influence in my life as an artist and architect. one of my earliest benefactors was the main backer/fundraiser for his beautiful wrapping of the islands in miami. she purchased, at the time, my largest welded steel work titled “lessons in geometry.” anyway, this is not about me. this is about a man that undoubtedly changed the direction of the art world – changed the direction of my life – and changed many individuals views of art and what can be accomplished by intellect, creativity and perseverance. god bless christo – now I must go and “rap the earth in a bowling ball bag. zip!” – rip my friend. m.
